Hey everyone,
I know I haven't been saying much lately, but I wanted to add something to
the concept of "Intellectuals"....

Being intellectual doesn't mean you know all the answers or all the facts.
It means you are constantly learning new answers and new facts. Learning is
based on adding to one's schema, and that is what the intellectual life is
all about. Just think about how Ellin's thinking has changed since the
first edition of MOT!

It reminds me of my favorite quote. I have it across one wall in my
classroom:

"The secret to enjoying life is to take an interest in it." - Thomas Troward

Now that's what we should be aiming for in our classes!

Bill
