Regarding wincap, I can say that wincap was made freely available by
microsoft, who probably had a blurb somewhere saying, "feel free to
use this example code", but in typical ambiguous corporate fashion
left their default copyright statement in place in each file.
Anyway, that blurb gives explicit permission to modify the code?
If not, to replace the library for a free one would be a good
idea.
I'll see if I can find the blurb, which should tell us whether
we are OK or not. If I can't find the blurb, then we should
remove wincap from Unicon.
It is providing .bmp file reading and writing; perhaps we can find some
explicitly open source code that we can use for that purpose. Or, just
write our own; .bmp format is not very complicated.
I will search for GPLed libraries to manage bmp files. If there are
not any other library, i can write a replacement.
