Unicon's permanent beta status is rather curious, don't you think?
The "eternal golden beta", I call it, reflecting my inability to consider
Unicon as stable as I would like in a non-beta product. But, we are
about to roll out version 11.5 this summer, and Unicon is being used
in many very interesting systems. At some point I would like to stop
hiding behind my "beta" status.
Regarding the source repository, the Unicon book started as an MSWord
document (mandated by the prospective publisher) and is currently an
OpenOffice document, which unfortunately makes it hard to do patches.
I don't see myself converting it to groff or latex or HTML anytime soon.
The openoffice source is available (it is an open document) but corrections
via e-mail or bug report are usually just as good or better than sending me
an edited version of the document file.
Cheers,
Clint

Don't miss this year's exciting event. There's still time to save $100.
Use priority code J8TL2D2.
