I have the exact same issues, all the way down to the "kathump-thum".
I have decided to go with a "Home Depot" special.  My local store has
a few units that were special ordered for customers and for one reason
or another were not purchased.  They have discounted these units and I
am going to take my measurements over there this week and get one.   I
will have to live witht he Aluminum frame, but it is not the end of
the world.  I have a friend in the elecrto-coating business.  I am
thinking of taking the new frame apart and sending the pieces to him
for a good paint job.
