Hi Jack,
Ever since I stopped using my boat commercially, I started using Boat US
Insurance. I keep my boat in the water and use it all year round in Boston.
There rates were very fair. Give them a try.
By the way, I love your 48 SF
Capt. Perry

Subject: [UnifliteWorld] Insurance

Hi,

Does anyone out there have any recommendations on insurance for
liveaboarders. I just got a quote from a company and they want
$3700.00 a year. I feel like that is kinda high considering that we
didn't sustain any damage from Hurricane Ike. Ours is a 1984 48'
Uniflite YF and we live at the Marina del Sol marina in Kemah, Texas.
Being our home, we are here to take care of anything that may come up.
That kind of premium would seem to apply to a non-liveaboarder that
only checks on his boat four or five times a year. If anyone could
point me in the direction of a good company that takes care of
conciencious yacht owners, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jack Smith
