You might also check out whomever writes your car policy.  We have
State Farm for car, homeowner's, boat and umbrella policies, and the
rates are very competitive.  Plus, if you have more than one policy
with them, there's a discount.  Also, a lot of companies will want to
be writing the underlying policies if you want umbrella coverage.

An umbrella policy is very highly recommended, and not outrageously
priced - I think ours is about $150 per million per year.  Cheap for
the peace of mind.  There are required coverages on the underlying
policies, and the umbrella coverage kicks in on claims that come in
over the underlying coverage.  Any lawyer will tell you that Texas
juries are somewhat unpredictable, and very generous with other
people's money.
