Hi Tom,
I work for a Cummins dealer and own 671T's in my own boat. My boss's belief
is to stop the problem at the main filter (racor), not the engine filter. He
has been doing this for many years and I also in my own boat for over 20
years. If you have 671's, if my memory serves me correctly, the fuel pump is
a gear pump and I would not concern my self with putting a strain on the
fuel pump, they are almost indestructible.

Jim and Capt. Perry,

I swear that I have read that using anything but the 30 micron at the
Racor starves the fuel system and puts too much strain on the fuel
pump. I looked for this claim but was unable to find it on Pascoe's
website, where I thought I read it. How long have you guys been using
the 10 micron filters? Years? I am using 30's and then 3's at the
engine.

Do you think this use of filter can vary with engine type?

Thanks,
Tom in Florida
