Hehe Thanks for the quick reply Jim. I’m not replacing them because of water issues. I am replacing them because they are beat to a pulp. It is the area where you left the stairs to get access to the engine room. The DPO kept all his supplies under the dinette area. So there are oil stains, deep nasty gashs where something heavy and obviously metal was dragged across the floor, etc. I am just doing whatever I can to freshen the boat up and the floors in that area are on the top of the wife’s list. I have learned…if the First Mate is happy…I’m happy. So…the floors are getting replaced. J BTW, our salon area is carpeted as well and it isn’t in bad shape.

Our aft cabin flooring was carpeted when we accepted the boat. Not sure what was typical at that time. Some had flooring and others had carpets. Living in Oregon we have some pretty wet winters and have had some leaking problems which are really hard to figure out. The latest was a leak through the stbd aft cabin that wicked onto the carpet which is not yet slolved. ( You might have a leak in the port bow and not see in stbd stern aft cabin. Good luck in finding it and when you do please letme know how you found it. I have been cleaning on the wood floors for awhile now. They are BAD and not looking any better. I am thinking about replacing them at the beginning of May. Anyone have suggestions? Any teak laminates that might work? I worry about moisture and laminates. Yet the price of new real teak floors is wicked. If anyone has some links are something that I could take a look at it would be much appreciated.
