Maureen:  On the water heater issue, there are two reasons I'm
sticking with a tank-type heater.  First, marine water heaters also
include a heat exchanger that connects to the engine cooling circuit
so you have hot water without running your genset or connecting to
shore power.  Second is that a well-insulated tank-type will hold hot-
becoming-warm water for a day or so without (again) having to run your
genset, connect to shore power, or run your engines.

Having hot water available on demand without any external power being
applied is very nice.
