If you chose to spray, and decide to use a 2-part epoxy paint (Awlgrip or the equivalent), it is very strongly recommended that you use a positive-pressure respirator. None of these dinky little paper masks. Not even a decent organic respirator. The catalyst in epoxy paints is based on isocyanate, a very nasty cyanide deriviative (methyl isocyanate was the chemical that killed 17,000 people at Bhopal).
I understand that you can get away with rolling and tipping using a 2- part and an organic respirator since so much less of the chemical is released into the air, but when spraying you want a suppy of fresh air. Or the fire department will be coming to give you a jump-start. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UnifliteWorld" group.
