Thanks to all those that replied to my post for help. I replaced the broken window and at the same time decided to try a new type window track since all the felt and plastic strips were about gone.. I tried a double channel window track from Beckersons.. Plastic, no felt and was suppose to fit the window snug but also allow easy slidding.. Well.. first off, I'm going back tomorrow and ordering the Stainless Double track, and doing it over. I should have know better, but figured maybe there was something better.. Not the case.. windows won't slide without brut force... Track does fit window snug, but can't have that. Second, it is just plain cheap.. don't see it lasting at all.. Windows are heavy.. and when she get to rockin, don't need windows falling out.. :) So, lesson learned here...
Anyway.. I do have one other question.. When I pulled off the old stainless track, there was some kind of sealing tape under the track. Anyone know what that is? Could be just some type of rubber weather stripping tape? Hard to tell, cause it was all old and brittle under the bottom track, but could tell on the sides and top that it was a tape of some kind.. not sure if it was rubber, foam, or what. Any help here would be great.
