A few years ago my wife and I tackled this job. One of the bolts that held the captains chair on the flybridge came loose and was pushing down on the headliner. We had to remove it to deal with the bolt. It was a difficult job. My boat is a 1975 aft cabin and the headliner material was very brittle. On the hidden side it had mold on it. Leaks from the flybrige rotted much of the wood supports that are stapled to the underside of the flybridge floor. They had to be replaced and i needed to locate the source of the leaks to prevent future damage. The icechest mounts were the source of some of the leaks as were any holes that support anything on the flybridge. We did not isulate the ceiling and did not even think about it. we were so overwhelmed with the rot and brittle fabric. We did not take anypictures. Once you open it up it turns it to a big job. Our turned out ok but we ended up covering some tears in the fabric with some mahogany supports on the ceiling. good luck, rich
