All, I am the proud owner of a distressed 1975 36-foot Double Cabin that is in need of a repower. Existing propulsion, hypothetically, is from a pair of 454 Crusaders with Velvet drive trannys.
I think I have transmission reduction info in my folder somewhere but would like to get some idea of likely propeller specs/dimensions before getting hauled out for project in May. Can anyone with a 36DC and similar setup say what their prop specifications are? Maximum prop diameter? I must confess that a friend and I are considering a pretty dramatic conversion -- turning the 600 HP Uniflite into a 150HP diesel-electric hybrid liveaboard trawler (I can't afford to plane!). That being the case, I'd be interested to know what RPM similar DCMY owners have to run to make 8 knots and, say, 11 knots (my design goals for continuous and momentary operation) in a dead calm. Thanks for your attention. It is going to be an interesting summer :) Jim -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UnifliteWorld" group.
