personally, if you are really simply looking to do 8 knots with a " high cruise " of 11 knots and are concerned about fuel economy i would go with a single diesel.... 8 knots is probably a bit above hull speed but close enough to where you are not pushing much and under 2.5 gph is realistic. Eric
