Doug, I have received your message four times. Anyway, I have an '84 SE II and
the windless is powered by one of my engine batteries. That would be one of
the
batteries period in the original configuration. I have change things around a
bit. The cables run the length of my engine room going forward and then
disappear only to reappear in the chain locker. I have not attempted to follow
them all the way, but I am sure they come from one of my main batteries. The
positive cable goes through a fuse (150 Amp) on the aft engine-room bulkhead.

By the way, I can operate my winch only by using the foot switches. Do you
have
remote control, such as from the helm? I found some disabled wires that were
marked as if they use to operate the winch from the helm.

Subject: [UnifliteWorld] windlass

Does anyone know if the 1984 46' Uniflite windlass has a dedicated
battery? If so, where is it?

I cannot trace the source cable to either the GenSet battery nor the
engine batteries. It goes into the floor of the anchor locker, then
disappears. Both the Genset and engine batteries are several feet aft
and I've been told the windlass battery is generally very close to the
windlass.

I've lifted every access cover I can find and cannot find either a
battery or the source cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doug
