Oil pressure alarm switch.

Attached is a photo of two sending units I've removed from my DD 671 engine.
The one on the right I've been told is the oil pressure sending unit. Question
is: what is the unit on the left? It resides right next to the pressure sending
unit. I thought maybe an oil temperature unit, but a mechanic was pretty sure
it wasn't. On the other hand, he didn't know what it is.

Any thoughts?
