This works.  But if your site doesn’t allow direct git access, I can see that 
an issue.

Try now.  I reconfigured some things to permit http-based cloning.

There no longer a git repo on kernel.org <http://kernel.org/>.  I’ve updated 
the online instructions on http://unionfs.filesystems.org/
