Yeah, I think that's doable. I assume you want it for 2.6.21.LATEST, right?
I'd second this request actually.. If at all possible it'd be great if unionfs2 tracked linux's vanilla stable as well as the latest-rc... if it's not too much work.
I've been running a diskless boot system off of unionfs1, and I'd enjoy getting it moved to 2 since it's much easier to work with in an early boot setup.
