You don't actually mean you want to stifle debate on an issue that may have a serious impact on the cost of owning or renting in this neighborhood so there's bandwidth available for people who want ask about restaurants, housekeepers, stonemasons, irresponsible dog-walkers, birthday fetes for Charles Dickens, etc... do you?

This isn't like a town meeting where time is inherently limited so one person's interest can unfairly crowd out another's. Or a printed publication where space may be restricted. The bandwidth is essentially unlimited. Anyone can delete messages whose headers indicate they don't want to read them (even those of us on AOL find it easy to do). So, a heated interaction in which people raise points and respond to those raised by others doesn't subtract anything that I can determine. Or, am I wrong about this? Do you think some form of Gresham's law applies and the bad drives out the good?
