I disagree, because people with an interest in protecting such a neighborhood, I
would think, would be interesting in officially cementing the the unofficial
policy of the neighborhood, instead of just trusting that people would continue
to care for their property in the "right" way, but who knows for sure? Well,
the people in Shadyside do. I think it's unreasonable to assume any conclusion
without actually talking to the residents. The best any of us can do short of
that, is venture a guess at the motivations, although some previous post cited
too much restriction as the reason most Shadyside residents were opposed, but I
don't know where that info came from so I can't confirm or deny. In any case,
it's this community's decision and studying what others have done is only
helpful to a point. As we've just seen, it's easy to take the same set of facts
and interpret them in wildly different ways.

Does anyone have an update on whatever happened to the unanswered questions on
the index cards from the meeting last week? I think they said they would answer
them and distribute by email or something?
