It's called "up-scaling." ... they look sexier, so they cost more even though they do no more.


Of course, the alternative is to buy your bike from Wall Mart. They still sell "classic" style bikes with balloon tires, real handlebars and a seat that is big enough to sit on.
And they are "comparatively" cheap also.
