meeting, a representative from the Center for the Study of Economics was there

They describe themselves as a sister organization
to the Henry George Institute and share a phone with them.
I visited their web site and compared the present
tax I pay on my house with the one that would be levied under the land tax. The
land tax was slightly lower, but not low enough to compensate for increases
that have occurred under gentrification in this neighborhood. However, it certainly would solve the problems of slum
landlords and developers like Sam Rappaport.
