Just used it myself for the previous two months (borrowed it from friends).
I can't compare it to anything else since this is all I've ever used.

No lead off-gassing as long as you follow timing directions.

No fumes for the most part but there are fumes. Use a lead-safe respirator
if you suspect lead paint.

Works great on the first layer, perhaps second too, but if you have more
you'll want to re-apply heat depending on how soft the underlayers are and
how well the underlayers bonded to substrate vs top layers bonding to
underlayers.

Best bet is to follow their instructions and use 80% boiled linseed oil, 20%
turpentine mixture to soak into paint layers for few hours before applying
heat.

It's certainly not magic. :) It's just as messy as I could imagine all
other scraping solutions, of course.

Also a bit difficult to get narrow portions (I was doing all window scraping
in place; it would be much easier to place windows on horses, but I didn't
want to have to deal with possibly broken/rotting counterweight fixtures).

And, since it's scraping and not "stripping" per se, you still need to deal
with dust and cleanup etc. (and keeping the kids out of the house).

I have just started trying the Peel-Away 6 myself.
