But, has anyone ever solved the mystery of the stolen lids? I have only
had a few instances where my garbage cans have been stolen, but the lids
always seem to get stolen within a month or two of their first
appearance.

WHAT does one do with collections of stolen garbage can lids, I wonder?
Does anyone understand WHY it is worth someone's efforts to purloin
these?
