Very good analysis on Slate.com (http://www.slate.com/id/2109079/) of why we "keep losing to this idiot". The gist is that people don't want to think -- they don't want to see the world as a complicated place with a lot of shades of grey. They want a simple person who lets them see the world as a simple place, with everything black or white. We're the good guys; they're the bad guys.
