I for one would love to see competition between cable companies. But it's always been that you have 1 choice if you want cable - the one that's in your area. Was no different when I lived in Center City.
As far as I know, Time Warner and RoadRunner (cable internet) moved west when Comcast came barreling across the bridge. I actually miss them. Of course it wasn't perfect, but it was a little cheaper and I didn't have problems like I've had with Comcast internet. With the earlier post that Verizon wasn't taking on any new DSL customers, that really cuts peoples' options. Mostly Comcast or dial up.
