Wendy, Just a correction: You can't have 1 choice. Choosing means you must have more than one selection option to choose from. I don't have cable in large part because it is a racket, an expensive racket. Now phone and internet are involved. They have us by the _________ (fill in the appendage).

I for one would love to see competition between cable companies. But it's always been that you have 1 choice if you want cable - the one that's in your area. Was no different when I lived in Center City. As far as I know, Time Warner and RoadRunner (cable internet) moved west when Comcast came barreling across the bridge. I actually miss them. Of course it wasn't perfect, but it was a little cheaper and I didn't have problems like I've had with Comcast internet.

With the earlier post that Verizon wasn't taking on any new DSL customers, that really cuts peoples' options. Mostly Comcast or dial up.

This is interesting, since in West Philadelphia, aren't we ALL
limited to Comcast for _cable_? Wouldn't it be great to have a
    choice?
