Why should this one be any different. Actually they are all different because each animal is a unique creature... but I digress. So I found quite a sweet little female dog today running down the middle of the street looking a little frazzled. I was walking two dogs at the time and she quite confidently approached us and stood there while a basset hound barked in her face. She did not seemed phased by this at all. I am just grateful I was able to get her. So she is in my backyard with food, water, and shelter. I may be able to bring her in if she gets along with my girl (of the canine persuasion, of course). I could also crate her inside temporarily if the weather is inclement. The problem begins and ends with the fact that I am just not financially able to care for another animal, of any kind, no matter how adorable. My dog is an expensive, chemically dependent animal and she has to be my priority. I may be able to help with some initial vet bills to get her checked up and vaccinated if someone, anyone, everyone, could also pitch in even just a little. Oh, so I have not told you anything about her. She is apx. 35lbs although at her proper weight she would probably be about 40-45. She is a solid, dark fawn color. She has sadly had at least one litter. She is pretty damn sweet and has eyes that will melt your heart. I will be posting a photo once I can borrow my friends' digital camera (alas, I am technologically handicapped). I have not tried looking at her teeth yet but I would guess she is apx. 1-3 yrs. old. If anyone is interested, knows someone who is, can give any suggestions for other rescue organizations (other than the ones that are so overrun already), or would like to donate a few dollars towards her vet bill please call me, Stacy (darrah's dog walking), at 267.902.2020. Thank you for taking the time to read this. While I was writing this I put my dog in a separate room and let the little stray girl in the house. She immediately made herself at home on the couch.
