Why single out Lauren? The entire block of Woodland Terr. has been snorting fire over the 40th & Pine project, quite publicly. Petitions, the works.

In petitioning a government, there's a distinction to be drawn between a simple, sound suggestion that lacks outspoken opposition, and opposing arguments on a complex issue, both made with comparable craft. A single citizen's voice is often incorporated by government planners in the first situation. The latter case becomes a balancing act, because good governments are under pressure to at least look like they'll listen to both sides.

perhaps we shall hear whether lauren wrote a letter to the philadelphia city planning commission on behalf of woodland terrace (or shca, or uchs for that matter) to protest the proposed hotel at 40th and pine?
