Magill writes:  "The Democrats absolutely CONTROLLED government in those days -- the House (Pelosi), the Senate (Reid) and the White House (Obama)."

Rick, Magill is correct on this one statement.

And about the filbuster!  After the election, I posted that we would need to remember the democrats refusal to return to the old rules of filibuster when they had 100% opportunity to do so.  The media downplayed this amazingly important moment in time, and rebranded the old filibuster rules as a "nuclear option."  Harry Reid was marched out as a nice guy, who didn't want to upset his dear Republican friends.    If we accepted that the democrat leadership missed the boat when the rules were first changed to the anti-democratic 60-40, and a threat was sufficient instead of a talking filibuster; the few truth tellers were shining the light on the democrats refusal to change the rules recently when they had the chance!

This is one of those huge pieces of evidence which I stress, that shows that both parties are choreographed by Wall St. and the constant claims of "partisan gridlock" are part of the charade to mock and fool the American people.  It's the democrats fault that the tea partiers can cause this gridlock! The Senate democrats could have completely eliminated this construction that provides the appearance that a few crazy tea partiers can block anything remotely progressive.  Please review and think seriously about these facts and the implications.

And back to Magill's statement.  The democrats could have placed a bill before the American people with this statement, "Medicare will be extended to all Americans at birth" on the first day of Obama's presidency.  The American people had given the democrats the mandate and the power to do so!  The American people would have supported Obama and the democrats to enact a single payer system like most of the world has adopted, except the countries whose governments have been overthrown by the international war industry!

During the two years the democrats had power, it seemed like they did not address the many serious issues many supporters believed they would, and seemed to be focused on a huge complicated fake debate around healthcare reform.  Honestly, it seemed to me that the marketing of the Obama campaign had been so successful that the democrats were deliberately wasting time until the Republicans could retake the House and the media could sing about partisan gridlock.

But if what i was seeing wasn't some terrible nightmare, it would mean that Wall St. was orchestrating both political parties like a puppet on a string!  Obama's first 100 days could have been much more powerful than FDR's first 100 days.  We can't blame Republicans for blocking anything the Democrats didn't also want blocked!

Here is some history currently at truthdig to review about the times of the health care performances (link). (The Zeese/Flowers article is at several current blogs including truthout.) And I have an important addition.

Dr. Flowers, who you see in the picture below, was one of the Bacchus 8, who Senator Bacchus (Democrat) had arrested.  It was at the first committee hearing when the so called "stakeholders" were all brought to the table to create healthcare reform.  I spoke to a couple of those arrested.

They did not go there expecting to confront the committee about its make-up!  The democrats had promised to bring all the stakeholders to the table for this committee.  When they marched in a group of Wall St. executives and failed to invite a single member to advocate for health care reform such as medicare for all; these individuals spontaneously stood up to speak out!  I urge people to consider these important facts that are never covered in the corporate media, but are extremely important when evaluating what has really been happening.

It's very important for folks to see past the distractions and manipulations of corporate news.  The rhetoric from both parties must be compared to the tactics, processes, and policies they actually pursue, and never believed on face value.  Most of what we are told, as members of the two political camps, are lies or distortions. I hope people don't continue just feeling depressed and disempowered, but consider the real world when they are not meditating, and open their eyes.  There is a planet filled with people ready to  join with in solidarity no matter how lonely it might feel here!

You lie SO much Bill.

The democratic majority was at its best razor thin and very short-lived partly due to a twisted maniac shooting Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords January 8, 2011.

No reliable and filibuster proof majority was achieved in either house by the Democratic Party’s leadership.

A goal of the accountable care organizations, part of the 2010 U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), is to move from Fee For Service to integrated care… getting to incentives for healthy outcomes and increasing the scope of providing good health care WILL lower costs AND increase the general health and welfare of the nation...

  • It makes insurance more affordable by providing the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history, reducing premium and out-of-pocket costs for tens of millions of families and small business owners who had been priced out of coverage in the past.  This helps over 32 million Americans afford health care who do not get it today – and makes coverage more affordable for many more. Under the plan, 95% of Americans will be insured. In 2013 over 15% of Americans are without insurance.
  • It sets up a new competitive health insurance marketplace giving tens of millions of Americans the same choices of insurance that members of Congress will have.
  • It brings greater accountability to health care by laying out commonsense rules of the road to keep premiums down and prevent insurance industry abuses and denial of care.
  • It will end discrimination against Americans with pre-existing conditions.
  • It puts our budget and economy on a more stable path by reducing the deficit by more than $100 billion over the next ten years – and more than $1 trillion over the second decade – by cutting government overspending and reigning in waste, fraud and abuse.

It was not until Reid and Pelosi realized that they could not force their fellow Democrats to "compromise"  with  "their plan" that they finally began discussing things with Republicans -- and got the "3 votes" they needed.

Then Democrats began demonizing Republicans again. "Compromise" is defined by the Democrats as "Do it my way." They make the Tea Party look like pikers -- but the Democrats have better PR people.

The Democrats, led by  Reid and Pelosi, are the ones who perverted "Health Care Reform" into "Feed our Insurance company campaign donors."

As Health Care leader after leader, from the Mayo Clinic on down, has stated since its pasage -- there is no reform in the ACA it only hands Insurance Companies a massive customer base for free. There is NOTHING in ACA which is intended to cut the cost of Health Care -- it only deals with getting more people to buy Insurance, not cost of care.
