President Obama did not lie - he wasn't even inaccurate. The Affordable Care Act DID NOT take any people from their old plans. Corporate greed, once AGAIN did the NASTY.
It could not be foreseen that insurance companies would elect to cancel rather than meet the ACA's minimum requirements. If folks lost their insurance, it was likely "junk insurance" which wasn't worth much to begin with and needed to go. The act itself in fact provides for them to be able to re-up under better standards and conditions. Bear in mind, as well, that the ACA only affects about 20 percent of the people in this country. Those who are insured by employers, military, VA, medicare, etc., aren't directly affected except for the fact that, for 100% of Americans, their benefits and their "customer clout" just got a whole lot better and our nation’s health, overall, should improve.
