It is running on a PIII 733, 512 MB of ram. I know this is not the fastest machine, but when I first started coming here others did not seem to think that this would be a problem. While Slimserver is running properly there does not appear to be any cpu usage or memory usage issues. It normally stays under 10%.
As to running top while the error is occuring, slimserver.pl drops way down to the bottom of the list and is using like .3% or something, I'll have to try it again to get a number that's not from my memory. "Since the http session does not timeout this usually means it is going to do something eventually..." And it does, in about 5-10 minutes. The strangest thing to me is why the file becomes "locked" for reading from any other computer, even if you just want to copy it. Am I off base thinking that slimserver should operate properly on this hardware?
