It looks like Dan is working on it. From what I can gleam (correct me
if I'm wrong)he changed the deb package to use the version of libDBI
that comes with the DEB package, instead of the one that comes with
Debian. Since the one that comes with Debian is of a different
version.
I just checked in some changes that will be in tonight's build.
Works fine against a virgin Ubuntu install in VMWare. :)
Done the trick nicely (even with all the extra packages I installed to
try and get the previous version working).

Now that all this is installed I can probably just use svn to update
periodically? Although I note that the slimserver exacuteable (was
slimserver.pl in my mandrake install) is now over in /usr/sbin/ so using
SVN will not work?
