Ok - I'm by no means an expert when it comes to apt so if anyone needs to correct me on what comes next feel free!!
First thing you need to check is that your sources.list file in /etc/apt looks like the attached.... My guess is that it will since mine is just the vanilla CC one. Next run the following command to check if the package is available: apt-cache search lame You should get a line back that looks like: lame - LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder... but it's the best of all This means the package is available. Assuming thats the case then apt-get install lame should work. One thing I have heard mentioned before is that apt sometimes needs to run a couple of times as the first time it is only updating the local list of apps. Hope that helps - if not then someone with a deeper knowledge of apt will need to step in... +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: sources.list.tar | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=982| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- Browny http://www.last.fm/user/BrownySV/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Browny's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21693 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
