Hi all, I'm migrating my slimserver setup from an XP box to a Mandriva Linux 2006 setup, having been very impressed by the latest Linux's.
I'm on a bit of a learning curve here, but with the excellent posts here and from stuff in the Wiki, I've got slimserver up and running and working well for the music library, using a temporary smb share to the XP box (later the whole lib will move to HD's in the Linux box, but I'm in the 'get it working' phase at present!). So far so good, but my old nemesis AlienBBC has got me stuck once again and I suspect it's down to some very basic setup stuff and my ignorance about some of the finer details of Linux ;) I've downloaded AlienBBC v1.00, have extracted the files and folders and copied them to the slimserver directory. At present I'm using the mplayer supplied with that package, once that's working I'll move to the the later ones. The RTSP settings are available in the file types section of the SS web interface and Alien BBC is there as a plugin, but starting the program results in repeating 'connecting to play' messages. I've sussed out how to run ss from the command line, so can post debug output from SS if somone wishes to look at that. What I've been unable to do is run mplayer on a command line, any attempt to run something like mplayer rtsp://rmlivev8.bbc.net.uk/farm/*/ev7/live24/radio1/live/r1_dsat_g2.ra results in a 'command not found error' - is this a factor, am i doing something stupid due to Linux ignorance? Any help, as ever, will be greatly appreciated! TIA, Andy. -- Andrew L. Weekes ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Andrew L.
