Ok. I just discovered the upgrade to v6.3 nightly only fixed scanning for the initial scan. Now that the initial scan is complete, when I invoke scanning for new music from the web interface, I am told it is scanning, yet the new music is NOT entered, i.e. does not appear in "Browse Artists", "Browse Albums", etc.
However, if I choose "Browse Music Folder" from the web interface, and navigate to an album folder that I know is new, and add that folder to the playlist, then subsequent "Browse Artist" commands will now show the new music from that folder. This seems to be quite a nasty bug... Does anyone out there know a workaround? Thanks, Randall P.S. On the speed question, I didn't notice any difference between slimserver 6.2.x and 6.3.x on FC5. I will say however that there are huge differences in speed between different releases of Fedora Core itself. FC5 is the fastest I've seen so far, so I suspect there's something else going on with your machine, perhaps too many extra processes running now. Did you kill all but the ones you need? Other sugestions would be to look for errors in dmesg or /var/log/messages that may yield clues. -- rrnwexec ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rrnwexec's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6314 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25287 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
