Thank you for your answer.

Well, just this morning, the server went into “suspend-mode”, or
something like that. The two keys/lights; Scroll lk and Caps lk on the
keyboard, was flashing.. don't know what causes that? The server is not
configurated to go into any kind of sleepmode, screensavers are off
too.

I will go through the bios, could be that there is an option which is
set to auto. Maybe I will update the bios too, as a last resort, ASUS
fixed some ACPI related problems in the latest update.

I upgraded the server to the latest stable kernel, latest mysql, as
well as other minor upgrades. I made some housecleaning, checked all
the logs, reinstalled the Slimserver, made sure that everything was
running nicely... but, as said, this morning it was “dead” again, I
could not resume the server from the suspend mode, aarrrggg. Before
doing the cleanup/upgrade, the server was only shutting down clean, now
it actually goes into somekind of suspended mode and it's not possible
to wake it up. No access to http://IP:9000 from lan.

Does Slimserver induce some kind of sleepmode to the server? Slimserver
doesn't run as root, so I would be surprised that it could do something
like that. Btw, slimserver does not show anything odd in the logs, so I
guess it must be something else, I hope. And yes, I did turn on the
debugging feature in slimserver. Just see what this problem made me do
:) Have to change my otherwise stable setup because of this stupid
problem. Maybe it's for the better, had been thinking about changing it
anyway. Think it's about time to install another distribution... :)

I will also do some research on the Cool'Q feature. Tonight I will turn
it off to see if that helps.

Thank you for your time.

PS. When CentOS 5.0 comes, I will build another server on a dual cpu
mobo, with a couple of AMDs MP 2400+. If that goes well, I will use it
as the primary server. Debian would be my second choice, no doubt about
that, but I'm really looking forward to test the RHEL 5, the Virtual
Machine Manager, and XEN.
