I don't understand the worries about the end of MS support. They are the last people I'd rely on if I had a prob with Windows.
First thing I do on any Windows box is strip out all the offending viral cesspools (IE, OE, WMP, Scripting Host, Address Book, Messenger, Chat, Netmeeting, etc). Then I firewall (Kerio) all processes from contacting microsoft.com. Never had a single problem. I don't need any MS security updates, because I don't have the programs that require constant patching. I'm still running Win2000 with no Service Packs. Almost everything MS has released in the past 8 years has been blatantly anti-user. -- Pale Blue Ego ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pale Blue Ego's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=110 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34505 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
