I've tried WINE and got it to work for a very simple program. For EAC, it wouldn't hurt to try, but the extra software layer between it and the optical drive might be troublesome.
Turns out the motherboard I want may only run under the 2.6.18 kernel. Edgy is currently running 2.6.17.
