Given my desire for low power consumption and simplicity, I'm now thinking that I should consolidate my music setup to one CPU with storage directly attached. That would entail either hacking my linkstation so that slimserver runs on it, or redeploying the linkstation as a backup drive and use a desktop configuration for my music setup (Via EPIA being a leading candidate). (I now have a MAXTOR 350GB external firewire drive (currently used for backup) I could link to the Via EPIA.)
