Surprise, surprise. I am still a bit confused. :( Creating a symbolic link to mysqld in the slimserver folder was no success. I thought somehow that in order to get slimserver to launch the mysqld process automatically I had to download some mysql developement libraries and then the build-perl-modules script would do its magic and produce a mysqld file in the bin folder. Since I downloaded a precompiled mysql (with no developement libraries (I think?)) that I simply untarred into a folder and ran it, I assumed that my slimserver would never be able to auto-launch the mysqld, even if I made a link to it.
Are you saying that slimserver will automatically search for a mysqld file, even if it was made from source without the mysql developement libraries? I made a symbolic link to mysqld in my /usr/local/bin folder: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/bin# ls -l mysqld lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 May 5 11:11 mysqld -> /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld Is this all that's needed? /Emanuel -- gammelgam ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gammelgam's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34983 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
