mgh -- if your Squeezebox doesn't find your Slimserver instance and
display a "Connect to hostname (1.2.3.4)" option when you hold the left
arrow, then it's probably firewall software on the Slimserver host
that's the root of the problem. You need to allow connections to three
different port/protocols, as indicated at the bottom of this page:

Check on the Ubuntu forums and wiki for information on how to do that
-- since I use my own firewall scripts, I can't tell you how that's
best done.
