What is the emoticon for tears? Tears of joy, that is.

The problem must have been with the firewall. I had installed
Firestarter not long after getting Ubuntu up and running. What can I
say, I come from Microsoft.

I could almost laugh. I uninstall firestarter, go back to the SB, go
through network set up, whoo hooo, I am connected to SS. First thing I
do is try and play something. Can't play file, problem with file. Back
to the PC, rescan music library (BTW, this comes from problems that
recur with XP and SS), and lose all my music. OK dumba**, your
external drive is off. Turn on drive, scan library, "opps,
/media/SimpleDrive/music is not a valid directory". So those of you
that worked through the last thread with me already know what happened.
I have to go unmount, and re-mount with command line bukharin gave me.

Now all is good, closer yet to full migration to Linux, I can use my
SB.

So this is exactly what bukharin was saying was the problem with his
command line, it does nothing to fix the automount issue with Ubuntu
6.10.

Maybe time to do as stroom suggested and upgrade to 7.04. But how much
of a s**t would I feel like if I had to come back again after an upgrade
and start all over with you kind people.

Now on to my next issue with Ubuntu, hot-syncing with my palm!

My sincerest thanks to all of you for your help.
