I forgot SlimCD had a special version of mplayer. Not only is the output of the -ao changed but also the mplayer messages are sent to stderr (2) and not stdout (1) to there is a "2>/dev/null" redirection change needed.
I think the conf line should be as below. Minimum cache setting is dependent on the stream you are playing. I don't think "bandwidth" is applicable to AACplus streaming.
