Not too much to put in a guide really - it's got an extensive online forum of its own, it works quite well and doesn't need too much attention. Installing SlimServer is outlined here: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?DebianPackage For faster speed on your lighter computer, you may want to look into Xubuntu, or even faster - the server version.
