Ha, you almost scared me there, thought I was going crazy. At first I
thought the unicode issue was in the 'Touch' interface mostly since
that's what I usually use. I really like how that theme lets me just
hit the browser's back button and I'm right back in the middle of the
'Music Folder' list instead of having to navigate all the way back in
from 'Home'. But it also happens with the 'Light' interface which
seems to have similar advantages.

I have a folder named 'µ-ziq' that looks like 'µ-ziq' and 'Antônio
Carlos Jobim' comes up as Antônio Carlos Jobim. The other day I spent
some time renaming many of the offending folders removing diacriticals
etc. but thought you might have some insight.

As to the ogg's, yes the firmware supports but not the slimp3 nor
streaming to iTunes, etc. Also the built in ogg'ing seems a bit buggie
at times otherwise it wouldn't really be much of an issue. I see some
other posts about ogg problems as well so until that is sorted out.
The main idea is to figure out other formats as well. I have a lot of
mixed files .ape's, .shn, .mpc, etc in a pretty large collection. I'm
trying to flac all the ape's, begrudgingly, but it will take some time.
I guess that's what I get for buying Bill Gates half a lunch.

I'm going to install AlienBBC and try to pipe the slackers through
mplayer. I'm also building a headless FreeBSD 6.2 in hopes I'm able to
compile some stuff for the NAS.

Anywasy, other than that SlimNas works GREAT on my Piii 1Ghz 512M and
thanks for the notice.
