Michael,

Ok - I burned the SlimCD 1.87 Beta 2 ISO to a CD and booted. I had
created a bunch of test files and put them on a USB pendrive. I simply
mounted the pendrive, pointed Slimserver to it, and then played all the
test files, and they all worked. I did not worry about the specific
conversion rules, I just wanted to see if each file type would play,
and they did.

File types tested successfully:
aac (m4a), aac+ (m3u streaming test), Apple Lossless (m4a), mp2, mp3,
ogg, ape, mpc, flac, wav, wma - 9.2 lossy, wma 9.2 lossless, and wma
10. I guess I missed aiff!

One bothersome thing I noticed in my experience was that when using
Softsqueeze in SlimCD, that in order to get the keyboard arrow keys to
work, I have to turn on and then turn off the touch-screen mode. The
arrow keys will work until Softsqueeze loses focus. If I type in an
xterm window for example, the keyboard arrow keys stop working in
Softsqueeze and I have to activate/de-active touch-screen mode again.
That is kind of weird. I like using the arrow keys, as it is easier to
navigate than using the mouse to press the remote keys on the display.
