So I guess I get the beer? ;) Let me know if you have any questions about Debian. It *may* take you a couple of times to get the install done right (Debian's install isn't pretty, but you only have to do it once), but don't get discouraged. I recommend you stick with Etch/Stable until you are a bit more comfortable with Linux.
