Ah, I overloooked the PPC-part. Where did you get the slimserver deb? I think that in most cases the perl-packages are not platform agnostic. If so you should be able to just use the i386 repository. But I am not sure about this, and I'd recommend you get a second opintion before trying. Btw. did you try with gdebi?
