I've recently broken my installation due to messing with video settings....consequently I've just reinstalled the above,
Installing Squeezecentre is now much easier for Kubuntu users. After installing 7.10 from a DVD (problems with video not related to this issue..) it is now possible to install Firefox (kubuntu browser isn't supported by Slim), Mplayer (RC1) (for AlienBBC), Sun Java (for SoftSqueeze), with Adept and manually extract essential mplayer codecs into /usr/lib/codecs/. I followed Debian instructions ie add rep to third party repository using manage reps with adept. Mounting external drives is easier. SC7 easily points to the mounted external drive.
